Foodie Bangalore - good places to fill that stomach

Seshadripuram - Sankey

Seshadripuram - Sankey Road Area

Chalukya

- used to be the best dosa and sambar but now the masala dosa is still awesome but the sambhar quality has gone down. maybe if you can smuggle in sambar from home or from Chandrika (junction of Cunninghamd and Millers Road). wont be an issue at all as you can park and eat here as do a lot of folks esp at weekend breakka. the place is smaller now after the hotel and restaurant owners have split and it looks like some of the cooks and old time waiters have retired too.

I do not know why restaurants that charge less cannot spend a few minutes training their staff. i have left this place once when the steward was unnecessarily abrupt about availability. hey you want to keep show your attitude - that is cool. just don't expect me to eat and pay then!

Not all bad cause I took Ela to

Janardhan

- old world charm, great chairs, good meals and dosa.

Next to that is Coastal express to try  Neer dosa there. but loved the veggies, malai tikka (better choice than chicken tikka). cheap alcohol to boot. the 2nd floor is non ac mostly men but still has 1-2 couples and families. maybe like us they could not find place on the ff.

Park and Eat

"boorgi and kadia veg nice; noodles Ok, soup --"
0 out of 5 blips
rotis were great. so is the dal, egg boorgi (onions and egg mixed )

on an earlier occasion had a chinese chicken in a brown sauce and hakka noodles those were fine too.

yest manchow soup was more like Indian Chow soup though.

waiters get confused so be patient

Gangotri chat - high point (between Chalukya  and Sophia School)
sweets and great chat. Ok healthy dhokla too.

Same with the sweet shop near Coastal Express - Ruchi Sangam. much better after they have re done the place.

Richie Rich icreams and snacks - nice creams, fruits and pav bhaji, chat

All time favourate sweets - see below KC ...
---

MG Road - Central

MG Road - Central Main Business district area

Chung Wah

Off MG road Corn toast and Hot and sour soup
great tasty and good VFM hakka noodles, spring rolls, momos with that gray-brown sauce.

Church street - Food street - off MG Road

Bheemas

everything from the meals, to the chicken and mutton biriyani, vegetarian choices, friendly waiters, not too expensive AC or clean non make for a good lunch or dinner on the go. sweet enough to parcel in a hurry when i needed to catch a flight and my sister and kids wanted some yum biriyani ! (don't ask)

K C DAS

Bengali sweets and puris
the best is the bid white one half an egg. the most expensive but the most yummy by far.

The badam and kaju barfis at Anand Commercial steet are quite good too as are the  boondi laddus.
Best place for them used to be Blue Bell (near Bishop Cotton School) not been there in a few years though.

windsor manor junction sankey road, pedestrian crossing

after the traffic signals were removed a year back at Windsor manor junction sankey road, pedestrian nightmare
police man there should stop traffic coming from Guutahalli towards Windsor Manor every 4-5 minutes for 30 seconds so we can cross. even at 3pm etc its busy. after 5 pm very busy. else put lights back to stop traffic before they enter the circle area for 30 seconds every 4-5 minutes.
So we can cross even when police 'busy'. I asked a police man to help me cross he said he has to see other traffic - then he went back to taking to the garderner who was tending the plants in the middle traffic Island!
Or are we going to wait till some people get hit by speeding vehecles OR some big shot has to cross the road on the way to one of the 5 star hotels?

bad end - Silver Star hotel, Palolem, Goa

1 star rooms and good food on the beach. Went off season (22nd July 2009 to 23rd) staff was helpful. Plain room - tv, western style loo. No soap, toilet paper, or hot water (but you can get most essentials at the shops 400 meters away). Owned by two brothers one of who I spoke to and seemed quite friendly.

Enjoyed my stay except - I was moving in to the Lalit Intertcontinental with my wife but wanted some clothes laundered. They agreed to clean them. When I checked out I did not ask for help and no one came forward to help with my 3 bags.

Realized the next day that I had the room key so I went immediately and dropped it off. All the staff was around the TV - slow days.

When I came back for my clothes on the 25th the other brother was there was he was not very nice. Said I owe him a days rent cause I had the room keys! I told him walking away with room keys is a common problem - that is why some star hotels have the paper or electronic keys now that can be easily replaced in house at a low cost.

He said how are they to know if I checked out or took the key along cause I meant to come back!

I reminded him : when I checked out I informed the staff that I was checking out, settled my bill and then left.

Then he started calling me a beggar and other obscenities, when I told him to shut up and cussed him one of his staff flew at me and had to be stopped by another.

Sad experience - will make me more wary of these low budget places in the future.

Call them, write them and ask them to make our footpaths more accessible, system not to allow bikes to get on to them (that is why they are so high): narrow, low step that turns inwards so bikes cannot use them to hop on to the footpath but pedestrians can (as we can easily turn). Remove hawkers especially busy roads like near bus stands (Shivaji nagar, Bangalore Main Station - Majestic, are the ones I have seen)
why don't people in India put a - or a space when writing phone numbers / long numbers ... makes it easier to read. keeps away the cross eyed lion syndrome :-)

I'm going to crush my tata sky set top box this Sunday on Mahatma Gandhi Road near the statue at 5pm in Bangalore India

if its more than one co than tata - so be it - tell them all. but the message is the same "let the turtles have their nesting sanctuary, we humans can develop elsewhere or maybe redefine development to include the right for other species to live.

I can afford a car but don't. rather use public transport, borrow my dads,  hitch a ride or higher a taxi if there is a dire need  ... still have a big pollution footprint ... but minimise is the aim.

I think we owe it to nature for being the most powerful and smart to do more to stop its destruction. and the best part is that it pays back. in the long run more sanctuaries means more plants and trees ... a better world.

I love Java , PHP, VBA, mysql, J2ME, VB6, oracle, linux win 2000+

I love Java. Solve near every IT problem. Even UI with applets, J2ME and Swing, albeit web apps and background processes are it's forte.
Java , J2ME mysql, apache web server - with them can solve most business problems. Use XAMPP on local.

VBA - great tool - have delivered more than 10 projects using this language and it has helped with data and analysis with nearly all my other projects (in conjunction with Excel and Word).

VB6 - the full programming part of VBA, wish they would bring it back. Not good for huge apps but great for small tools that made every day life better. Example Minutes Timer
Windows 2000 was when windows OS got on par with unix and beat it in usability.
Oracle for showing all that a database can be.
MySql for being free and powerful data base too.
J2ME for being easy to put apps on mobile devices
Linux for great performance ++ and all fre. Tried new Ubuntu in 2013 - great job. Wish all software were built to run on linux too. Then could really have a choice.

Hadoop, Neo4J and other Not only Sqls (NO-SQL). Helped analzed and use data in new and easier ways.

Thank you all the folks behind these technologies!

no buy - tata tra, sky, salt ...

I stopped using tata sky, salt, tea and other products by them that I used to buy. i hope you shun them too till they change for the better.

Write to them . http://customercare-cv.tatamotors.com/contact.asp

TATA corporation is in the global spotlight as they launch the Nano, the world's cheapest car. But the spotlight ought to be on a costly little secret: TATA's giant port at Dhamra, which threatens the nesting grounds of an  endangered turtle species.

Merriam-Webster has this entry under 'ta-ta'; Etymology: baby talk-used to express farewell.

That's apt, considering that the TATA corporation could soon be making us say goodbye to of one of India's largest marine reserves - Gahirmatha, and with it one of the world's few remaining Olive Ridley turtle nesting grounds.

Every year, between 200,000 to 500,000 turtles make their way to the mass nesting beaches of Gahirmatha on India's east coast. This is just about 12 kilometres away from a giant port being constructed by TATA at Dhamra.

TATA is India's largest corporation and has a growing international empire, with its recent acquisitions of Anglo-Dutch steel maker Corus and the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

In India, the company's reputation for social responsibility has been considerably tarnished over the last decade, and its performance on the Dhamra project is one of the reasons.

When the original environmental impact study turned out to have holes big enough to drive a fleet of Nanos through, we asked for a fresh, independent environmental impact study to be made, and for construction to stop until that is done. Seems like a simple demand, right?

But so far, we've hit a brick wall.

People are emailing, faxing and calling the Tatas on an hourly basis. But the port hasn't stopped.
200 scientists (many with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature) have speakon up. But the port hasn't stopped.
But guess what? We're not giving up.

Thank you

to impress her so he told her lets do a science experiment. see this lamp

will instantly vapourize. she went "yeah?! but..." too late the lad had
already poured a drop from his glass .........

water vapourized in a second and the bulb went boom in to a million pieces.
still do not know how only one tiny piece hit him and none her!

homeless

Until a few weeks ago, Tim Edwards was just another one of the men begging for change at a busy Houston underpass, ignored by most drivers who sped on past without a glance.

Now, thanks to an Internet marketing campaign and unlikely allies, Edwards has become the human face of homelessness to thousands of online viewers drawn to his Web site by its deliberately controversial name — Pimp This Bum.

During regular Webcasts, dozens of visitors to www.pimpthisbum.com/ ask questions about Edwards' life and his slow fall from office manager with a home, a car, and a future to an outcast short of hope and with little prospect of help. http://ascendgence.com/pimpthisbum/index.aspx

Bangalore Cop Good Action

a lot of times i have not  so good things to say about cops and the government but sometimes they do nice things too. Friday saw a cop near the windsor manor signal pick up sand with his bare hands and put it on some oil that had spilt on the road. nice gesture to save a 2 wheeler or other from skidding. did not have phone so no snap. also good job the next day when they handled traffic well during the Advani rally

I"LL TELL YOU WHAT I WANT!

nda = bjp = less freedom, as good as living in a muslim or communist country "pub culture is bad" talk to other communities and your bad! no thanks rather a govt that podges around and does little than a govt that does crazy things

isn't the judiciary supposed to be separate from the govt? so "Death to Afzal within 100 days if NDA voted 2 pwr" means they will put pressure on the judges and get it into fast track? why not fast track now? cant we ask the current court to do that? there is enough proof - on film + his own statements to convict. police have had enough time to ask him questions, could have recounted every incident in his life by now.

if they control the courts for this tomorrow they will control the courts for other things in their favour / in the favour of their close supporters who give them biggest bribes.

I wont vote for anyone who says closing pubs is good, controlling basic freedom is the need and are so far right that we will not live in a democracy anymore.

I"LL TELL YOU WHAT I WANT!
arey yaar,humko
-development
-security
-market stability
-eradication of slums and proper housing to people
-free and compulsory education be given to all and enforcement of this law be done with the help of many organisations, hereby giving jobs to so many unemployed people to help other deprived get education
-we want equality in gender,no infanticide,no uneducated girls(I don't wanna live in a society where it is considered immoral for a girl to go to a school)
-we don't want people like sri rama sene and others telling us what to do,how to dress, how to not celebrate a day, what language to opt and speak, when to go out
-we don't want bandhs to be made a democratic right
-we want to have better equipped army + police + better all round training for them
-we want educated politicians and not criminal hooligans leading us yes a degree minimum to stand as MLA, MP, should have an active blog with feedback so can use technology to hear the people; with no criminal cases pending or convictions in any case
-we want better security for people  in our country,at the same time equal justice for men being tried under various laws for women, for no fault of theirs.Men must not be tortured or black-mailed using these laws
-we want fair and equal opportunities for all.No unfair reservations. Give grants on performance in school. No reservations. if u can get high marks then get grants. Open Candidates must not be at a loss cuz of these.Give backward people a chance to develop.
-transparency in the annual audit(I want to know where my tax money has been going,I definitely don't want it to go to some ministers and a bunchful of people's pockets!)
-we want all Political parties to fight and work for one ultimate cause, that is DEVELOPING INDIA
MY GRANDPA HAD BEEN TOLD THAT "INDIA IS A DEVELOPING COUNTRY"
MY FATHER HAD BEEN TOLD THAT "INDIA IS A DEVELOPING COUNTRY"
I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT "INDIA IS A DEVELOPING COUNTRY"
I WANT TO KNOW,WHEN WOULD WE BE A DEVELOPED COUNTRY????
I don't want politicians to let India remain a developing country so that they could take loans from world bank on our name and stuff that money into their pockets
All in the name of OUR development!

Ann Coulter Under Investigation For Voter Fraud

from the article http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/08/ann-coulter-under-investi_n_165007.html:
Coulter was investigated and cleared of wrongdoing in 2006 for allegedly violating Florida's voter registration laws by voting in the wrong precinct.

---

does not seem that bad - she voted where she was - not like she voted twice or in someone else's name?

if the system mandates that she should not vote in some precinct then the system should not allow the vote to take place - change the system

am not sure how its done in the US but atleaset here in India, besides soldiers, you need to turn up only at the voting booth closest to your home where u can vote - first you show ID (spl voter card or passport or DL or any govt id) if u rname is matched then u vote

if u change homes u need to register 2 months before or go to the old booth

of course in practice a lot of s**t happens. but only hear of charges against people who got violent or were impersonating someone. happens less now with the electronic machines. less counting violence and rigging too. one place where technology has had a +ve effect

UK Police spend £20,000 on cardboard officers

3-Year-Old Found Wandering Outside At Night In 25 Degree Weather

3-Year-Old Found Wandering Outside At Night In 25 Degree Weather
No coat, no shoes, the boy walked out of the apartment after he was scared because his father left him home alone. This happened right on a main thoroughfare in Westchester - I drove right by the site about 20 minutes ago. This road is like a highway - 6 lanes wide!

---

I think its tuff to bring up a kid without support. i think its an African saying "It takes a village to being up a child". I'm not saying that its OK what the dad did - like on the site's comments he could have kept him warm, etc and should have taken him along or gotten someone to watch him.

that's the thing with everyone 'getting a life' nuclear families ... need to pay someone to watch your kid no grant parents or friendly trustworthy neighbor ... its still a lot like that in India. a friends bro in law lost his wife a few years ago. the in laws moved in with him immediately even though they had a grand old house enjoyed their club life ... but so many people have to leave their city nowadays for work - so even here u hear of the 6 year old kid who is alone till 10pm when his folks get back after a 2 hour commute.

Atheist bus campaign picked , religion vs pragmatism

I belive in God - and I agree with this message to a large extent. right now it is blind belief in religion that's making a few bait others, and fewer go crazy and bomb others. its something that we all need to fix. make religion more private, not about public and more subtle spreading.

In India we have crazy rights & terrorists fighting with religion as the cause , missionaries steering up Hindus to become violent, government appeasing the minorities for votes, it sickens me to the core.

and its true - science has made things a lot better, but religion has just made things more segmented etc

spirituality is required but the present day religious set up is counter productive.

this image made me think in new ways, ty for posting it.

its true that science causes a lot of crap to - ask the people over at Hiroshima ... or anyone who's been the victim of a chemical leak ... but those are mistakes where as most modern religions at their core tell u - we are the best, spread this word ... science does not do that.

i agree we need more science, ethics, spirituality and less of religion. keep your religion at home with your other personal things.

ga art, democracy!

my biggest take away from the article was something that i really belive in - democracy and liberty/ freedom win. (from last para)

i even support the Iraq war for that - ok there were no WMDs but there was one Very Sick Dictator thats gone now. hail to democracy cheers and i hope others are lucky to embrace it.

"Milgram didn't really explore why it was that Germans created death camps while Americans did not. The answer is liberty. In 1974, Milgram more generously noted, "It is not so much the kind of person a man is as the kind of situation in which he finds himself that determines how he will act." Americans have not escaped the natural human tendency to defer to authority. Instead, we have had the good fortune to find ourselves in the situation where our social institutions have traditionally limited what authorities can get away with. The institutions of liberty are what enable people to act on what Lincoln called, "the better angels of our nature.""

Vodaphone : Bangalore Mobile Telecom provider - sucks

Bought a vodahphone SIM Card / mobile phone connection 25 days back ready to return it !

First there is no service in my house. So I complain. They say they will fix it in 10 days. it works just outside so I think yes they might - had issues with airtel before - and they boosted the signal in 5 days. also was ill so could not go out anywhere.

after 12 days no action. I took this connection as it was meant to be less money and wanted to try something new.

today decided to go cancel it - office closed at 8pm - but there was someone inside. so I wrote a short letter saying I want to cancel my account, no discussion just stop charging me (I was in a hurry as it was end of billing cycle in 5 days) tried to give the letter to the guard he would not take it - no letter box then signaled to the guy who was still inside - it was 820pm he came and heard me but would not take it gave message:
I'm Pavan a cashier but this is not my work time and I wont take anything to give to anyone nor put it on their table so they see it tomorrow.

well, now wait till tomorrow and cancel. don't believe this bad service especially after those ads!

Now will try Idea or go back to airtel

plime

i got to know of plime today quite a nice concept http://www.plime.com/f/312/37/#q3 has an inbuilt rating system for articles, views , people ... quite powerful. not 100% accurate - i know cause a link a someone who works for me was down flagged when the site is legit - but then the nets a lot about people acting quick with pre convieved notions without digging for the truth. that said i found the rest of the site quite fresh and easy to use i found it relevant to India cause its another great web site where Indians can communicate, find new information etc like about the nurse that removed an IUD without permission http://www.plime.com/l/90249/2/#q4

edit - not a good site - lets people with more karma points edit your posts with no log kept. so you can made to look like you said something that u did not :( --- jerks who edited it on such a topic too.

Edit 2 - its fixed and thnk God http://www.plime.com/f/7121/ and http://www.plime.com/f/7122/ http://www.plime.com/f/7104/2/#q2

why on a topic like this? why upset everyone? someone is editing my posts so i get down votes. a change log of forums posts is required. dont tell me about server space as sites like hostmonster.com give unlimited space/ but without that this site is an uncontrolled toy in the hands of some twisted minds. --- i really do not know what was written in that post. even if it was edited 5 seconds after i posted - what does that prove? anyway my view on 9/11 is the same as of 26 nov in India - sick terrorist act, sad loss of life, hope the people who did it are punished and we have no more terrorism. and the same that i think about the terrorist attacks in Pak, Spain, Uk and 100 other places.

not like Indians did not die that sad day http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/lists/by-state/page29.html , http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/people/2757.html wipro a Indian co had an ofc there. NGOs even collected money here which was sent. jsut as other countries have sent us help when we have had disasters and attacks.

http://www.plime.com/f/6942/40/#q7
horsefeathers:Everyone, Please stop. We have varying cultures here, so at times things are misconstrued about some posts. How some of us feel about 9/11, others in other countries, do not feel the same. There also seems to be some that feel they need to Plime Nazi's and constantly hounding certain people about their posts. The "rules" and "guidelines" are becoming so stringent that sometimes just making a simple post feels as if you are walking on egg shells.
i really do not know what was written in that post. even if it was edited 5 seconds after i posted - what does that prove? anyway my view on 9/11 is the same as of 26 nov in India - sick terrorist act, sad loss of life, hope the people who did it are punished and we have no more terrorism. and the same that i think about the terrorist attacks in Pak, Spain, Uk and 100 other places. not like Indians did not die that sad day http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/lists/by-state/page29.html , http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/people/2757.html wipro a Indian co had an ofc there.

NGOs even collected money here which was sent. jsut as other countries have sent us help when we have had disasters and attacks i was in the office that day. got numerous requests on chat from people i did not know and some like Noble Varghese - to call their homes to tell them they are safe. international lines were down. and even the terrorists owned up to it - why would i say other wise? posting all my posts here in to my blog too - dont know what will be edited when :(( ------------

i can make a screen shot look like anything i want. its called html editing and photo shoping. if not then you or anyone else who is 7-8 levels above can edit this one, seconds after i post it. how does that prove that it was my original post or an edited one? do you even believe your own "proof" how convenient to have an anonymous tip. that is hardly any proof. if there was a public log now that would be something. this more looks like a way for some one to get their view across or get me out of here or both ... when i copied a comment on the forums from the new tab at least two people sent me PMs that they think the forum would be better off without me. but 3 were kind enough to send me the opposite message. about wanting up votes. i want my account deleted cause I do not trust the few bad apples here. so take your images and your theories and stuff them.

http://www.plime.com/f/7107/3/#q42 ------------
JoshSF49 :

1. My posts have been edited in the past (negatively), but I've caught them quick enough to edit them back. It does happen. Karma abuse is not uncommon. But, it's also not common either. It happens. It needs to stop. 2. I do not believe tgkprog did anything other than post an empty comment. In fact,

I can actually attest that I saw the top 4 or 5 posts on that page, and they were all empty, including his. Someone edited that post. And I have my suspicions of who.

3. tgkprog has been attack by many people lately, and I think this was just a major way to get back at him. It's atrocious.

4. Lately, over the past few months, I've started to see a divide in the Plime community. Mass serial downvoting. Tit-for-tat downvoting. Fights. Editing comments. I know this stuff had gone on in the past occasionally. But it's far too rampant and it's going to end up killing the community.

5. Thank you Bingo for keeping it from getting worse.
thank you Josh at least i know I'm not the only one who has posts edited negatively. do they send you "print screen" proofs too? :D can this site owner delete my account. i have had enough

i want me account deleted and i want all my posted to be deleted too so they cannot be edited. i will not stop till that's done. its not right what's happening here http://www.plime.com/f/5460/15/#q301

------------
Jerry520 : There are always signs to look for that make it obvious things are photoshopped. That was simply a screen capture. Stop lying already. You messed up, just admit it and let's move on.

I'm posting the screen cap again for emphasis.
you can edit the html. i can do yours but I do not need to. anyone with half a brain knows you can edit html. its called view source. you can even make http://www.plime.com/ point back to your own server so the address bar looks valid I have explained it for testing here http://tgk2.blogspot.com/2008/06/testing-web-applications-with-real-url.html back in 2008. and the same information is in a 10000 other places its been around since the net was there.

its really easy with a local web server installed.

i do not need to lie. i did not mess up. you are not posting for emphasis. your posting cause you have no one else to pick on or you do not like me or your a stuck record. but i can echo you and others. i know i'm right, i know i posted a blank comment; I know what i believe about the incident 9/11.

I was quite hurt with all the crap you and others gave me the past weeks. but this has made me stronger. some of you are really pigeon brained petty people. post 1,000,0000 screen shots. down vote me. i will not affect me.

and thank you all for the messages not to leave but to edit out contact information. but its too much. this id is my id on a LOT of sites. so i hope this site puts in controls for its content, until then the site is not usable except to defend my self from this doctored posts and people who are using it to malign me.

http://www.plime.com/f/7107/3/#q51 -----

please beleive what you want people if we ever meet lets agree not to talk or whatever ok ?

i'm posting it in public cause i'm sick of being targerted. sick of being told that i posted somethign i did not. i'm a firm beleiver in freedom of speech and this is the opp - putting words in someone else mouth. so really if deleting my account takes u all thinking i did it then that is fine.

jax can delete all this when he deletes my account. giving him all the reason too. i have no reason to stay on this site after he says the log says i did it too.

Fine wont show the mails but i hope he deletes the accont. heck i even remember when i posted that blank comment - thinking if i need to put a space or a nbsp - or will it just accept the blank message. it did accept it. lot of software dont. the data base dont mind but the front end usually dont allow it cause its generally not intended / can be spam. i remember thinking all that !

---- wow just went to my blog now i have hate comments there about me being a terrorist sympathiser (did not publish them) :( this is a real mess

and why is the logger being broken such a surprise when there have been so many other reported bugs here - 2 by me and countless by others.

its real simple to write a logger but real simple to get it wrong too ... like orignal mixed up with next ... one of the common bugs in programming is forgetting arrays strart from 0 and not 1 etc

one liner wisdom and funnies

People are made to be loved and things are made to be used. There is much chaos in this world because things are being loved and people are being used.

Let a white rabbit follow you. (Matrix follow the white rabbit)

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, and then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

I don't know what weapons will be used in world war three, but in world war four people will use sticks and stones. (Albert Einstein)

One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a "battle" that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2 "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Poems by Chris Sjögren

By Chris Sjögren Copyright 2005-2009

Longing for the love
You could still have
Continuing to long
Your door is closed
And you have lost your key

Only
There is no lock on the door
-Chris Sjögren

I saw them today
The middle-aged man
And the old man
The middle-aged man is really the young man
Here
And now
The old man is not so old
Only sick
The young man with the whole world
In his eyes
And the old man
With his eyes dimmed
Like an old man's eyes
High on painkillers

He sits there
Tries to move
In his ugly worn shirt
White
Borrowed from the hospital
He, too, is
Borrowed from the hospital
And just as white

The wind in his hair
The little he had left
The sun on his face
The lilacs flowering
Beautiful
As if they were created only for this very moment
The sun hurts his sensitive eyes
His medicine has taken away
His ability to feel the sweet perfume from the flowers

The young man
Drove the wheelchair
So very, very carefully

That, too
Is love

-Chris Sjögren
------------------------------------------

I could have
I would have
I should have
Oh, that damn ocean
That damn emotion

And the old man in the moon
Smiles
As if he knew
What this is all about

Poems by folks on Orkut 1

none of these are mine as the title says copied from orkut.com (poetry community)I think the first one is by Nishkam Razdan and he keeps leaving comments to delete it - but maybe its ok now that his name is given credit?

Poetry

The Temple Lamp

Lighted when it was, full of vigour, with youth to its brim, and over.

Small flame it is, sailing in a dark ocean; flickering, casting strange shadows, on the earthern wall.

Moths and flies, crawl to it, to warm themselves in the freezing cold night. It illumines, the face of the Deity, at its zenith. Wisdom coupled with Youth, of utmost importance.

Now it is old, searching for life, not a drop left, dry and empty. The flame is dimming, losing its vitality. The flames consume, the poor wick, in a dying effort, to survive.

Darkness, now covers the lamp like a shroud. The smoke rises, like a silent memory of the dead past. The moths and flies fly away, with disgust. But the Diety's face, can't remain dark for long. A new flame is lighted, it's its chance to meet, the Darkness

Controvercial Thinking A Controvercial Thinking -----

why do people celebrate a step closer to death all the years that have faded behind in the sands of time

why do people celebrate a day that says you'r a mortal a day that says you've aged a day that reminds of all those dreams that had been delayed

why do people celebrate when all those people on the roads abandoned in old age homes those thrown in garbage dumps who were sieged by ill fate don't even have a birth date

tell me why do people celebrate there silly birth date when they are just a inconsistent spec in the abyss of space !!!!
