tata to Tata for the turtles

What : say no to the big cos that are making a port in Dharma that further endangers turtles that use that area as a nesting ground. http://greenpeace.in/turtle/why-save-the-turtles

Who : we, against tatas, LnT ... read the other side http://dhamraportandturtles.blogspot.com/

Where and how : Near the Mahatma Gandhi statue , which is in the park adjoining the stadium. Going to carry a hammer and allow concerned people to smash my tatasky box. bring your box too. not a very large money loss if you consider that if you switch the other co will give you 3 months subscription free. anyway plan to carry a few photo copies of articles from the web on this too so people can read about it there if they have not seen yet. posters would be good too.

I'm going to crush my tata sky set top box this Sunday on Mahatma Gandhi Road near the statue at 5pm in Bangalore India

Token against port in Orissa which is endangering the Olive Ridley Turtles http://www.greenpeace.org/india/news/don-t-let-tata-terminate-the-turtles Am switching to airtel or sun DTH will decide Saturday. Also shunning their other products like salt and tea.

----
On http://dhamraportandturtles.blogspot.com/ ... why only against tatas, what about the fishermen, other cos who are involved ...
expose one report or another. even if some activists distort facts it does not change the fact that the turtles who nest there are going to be affected. some of them are killed by fishermen's nest. I wish there was a way to limit that - maybe education on where not to fish but don't see much headway in that.

anyway if there is too much traffic near my house - I don't want more to be added cause anyway a few die in accidents - so what difference if a few more ....

if its more than one co than tata - so be it - tell them all. but the message is the same "let the turtles have their nesting sanctuary, we humans can develop elsewhere or maybe redefine development to include the right for other species to live.

I can afford a car but don't. rather use public transport, borrow my dads,  hitch a ride or higher a taxi if there is a dire need  ... still have a big pollution footprint ... but minimise is the aim.

I think we owe it to nature for being the most powerful and smart to do more to stop its destruction. and the best part is that it pays back. in the long run more sanctuaries means more plants and trees ... a better world.

Dude, you can channelize your energy in a better way. A group of Tatas stature won't take up any project that will endanger any living being. And your concerns for the precious Olive Ridley turtles can be better addressed by *doing something constructive* rather than the obnoxious act you are planning.
